Albany State women’s comes up short against Miles

The Golden Rams huge 4th quarter rally wasn’t enough as they lost (64-55) to the Miles College Golden Bears on Thursday evening in Fairfield, Alabama.  The Golden Rams fell to (1-14) overall and (1-6) in the SIAC.  The Golden Bears improved to (8-1) overall and (4-0) in the conference. 
 
The Golden Rams led (13-12) at the end of the 1st quarter.  After being outscored by 5 points in the 2nd quarter, the Golden Rams trailed (30-26) at the half.
 
But, a dismal 3rd quarter, in which the Golden Rams were outscored (21-4), propelled the Golden Bears to a 21 point lead entering the 4th quarter.
 
The Golden Rams mounted a spirited rally in the 4th quarter as they outscored the Golden Bears (25-13).  But, it was too little, too late and too much to overcome as the Golden Bears escaped with a 9 point win.
 
Johanna Bell led the Golden Rams with 20 points and 5 assists in 39 minutes.
 
Feliah Greer led the Golden Bears with 12 points and 4 rebounds.  Madison Lee contributed with 11 points and 4 rebounds.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in action at 1:00 pm against Edward Waters University at the ASU West Campus Arena on Saturday, January 13.
